HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We celebrated Thanksgiving a day early this year and started our day out enjoying the big snowfall we got the day before!
We found a great sledding hill in our neighborhood which was a blast!
You realize the amount of kids you have when you have to find gloves, hats, boots, snow pants, long underwear, and the list goes on and on.
I was shocked that August let us put on his gear since he is a bit dramatic with anything other than sweats!  He wanted to be held:)
Sawyer taking August down and Canyon cheering them on:)
 Way too much fun!

After a cold morning of sledding we came in and had some hot cocoa!
It was a great morning and then I had to start cooking our Turkey dinner:)
I enjoyed the warmth of our house and made a nice healthy meal for my family!
My turkey even turned out:)  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  I hope you are enjoying the day with your family, friends and loved ones!

Metolius Fish Hatchery

It's no secret we LOVE this place.  If you follow our blog at all, this place comes up often.  Knowing our time here in Central Oregon is coming to an end, we wanted to visit it one last time.
Many tears were shed here today...grown up ones.  Happy tears filled with beautiful memories and heavy hearts knowing a big change is coming our way.
Enjoy the pics.  It was a cold but a beautiful day here.

The clear water and gorgeous fish are fun to view.
Fish food and zip-lock bags...a must if you come here...and quarters!
 Filling up our bags.
So happy to feed the fish.
This little area has massive size rainbow trout.
If you are a child...heck even an adult...this is pretty amazing:)

How they respond to my constant attempts at getting their picture:)
 Sawyer is always my model.
If I can catch him fast enough, I can capture this beautiful smile.
And this guy, his heart is captured in his pics.
Many years, many memories.

Pumpkin Patch

We finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch this year!
I wasn't sure if it would happen with our schedule looking so different but we took advantage of the boys having a 1/2 day of school today.
Our favorite Pumpkin Patch is the D & D Ranch.  I think it holds so many memories that it's hard to go anywhere else.
I remember the first time here.  It was when Canyon was 4 months old and we were getting ready to move back to CO and I begged for the owners to let us in early before they opened so I could get a pumpkin patch picture with my 1st baby.
Canyon was a fussy baby and I'm pretty sure he felt tortured the entire time we were there.
I remember being so upset that he was upset:)
8 years later and we still come every year.
There is a special authenticity to this place.
It's a piece of the past and you feel it as you watch the kids play.
The animals here are so loved and cared for and the kids get to have a part in it.
Farmer Mike gave us a hay ride and we got to feed the cows.
Below is Brownie.  He lost his mom when he was born and Mike's wife fell in love with him so he is a permanent fixture on the ranch.  He's had a beautiful life that is for sure.

Having Smith Rock in the background of the Ranch is another reason it's number one in my opinion.
 The Family Selfie...actually turned out!
It was weird not having our hats and vests but we sure enjoyed the beautiful warm day!

Dry River Canyon

Took the little monkeys on a beautiful walk this morning to get some fresh air!
Every Fall we love to come out here and enjoy one of my favorite outdoor playgrounds for the boys.
August was excited to not be in the pack for this adventure.
The "rock garden" is my favorite part of this trail.
 Love them so much.

A great day to get out and smell the fresh Junipers!
