Today I wanted to take the boys up Misery Ridge to see how far we could get. It's called Misery Ridge for a reason. Not an easy hike.
Before our ascent we cooled off in the sprinklers. Smith Rock tends to be HOT! It's really a perfect place to visit in the fall and even the winter for this reason.
I knew this trail would be scary for Sawyer so we went as far as he wanted today.
My biggest goal was for them to have fun. We would "work" our way to the top but it wouldn't be today:)
Canyon and I will have to come back and do this together since I know he would love to make it to the top:)
Sawyer led the way back down and we decided to go exploring on the other trail.
Behind them between the rocks is our rubber ducky rock. Hard to see but you can see the head of the duck:)
We stopped and had a little picnic lunch and cooled off in the shade.
I'm so proud of these little troopers.
Mr. Perfect
They are such beautiful boys.
I can't explain the joy I feel watching them in their element.
I take these photos to capture the moment but also the feelings. I look at his little man and I am so blessed to be his mommy.
August loves being in the backpack and is always checking out the scenery and watching his brothers.
So so handsome.
Growing up way too fast!!
Tough climb back out...they never stopped to rest. I could hardly catch up!
Attempt at getting us all in...almost!!! On the way out we stopped at the little Smith Rock Store and the boys got an ice cream cone. Such a fun day with them.
