We come to this place multiple times a year. It's just one of those places.
Before Greg and I had kids we would imagine the joy these little (BIG) fish would bring our child. Yes child...we were "those" parents. One was plenty and we were proud to be the chosen few who opted to have one spoiled entitled kid!
We loved our life of adventure. Kids would only screw that up for us. We were selfish...very selfish and wanted to hold tight our identity in our careers.
And THIS happened. Three beautiful boys came in and rocked our world in ways we never could have dreamed of.
They have changed many things for us but our love for adventure has not changed. They make the water more beautiful and the trees more vibrant. They make you look closer at the pink stripe that turns an ordinary trout extraordinary.
They make you dream bigger and see what's truly important in this short life we have here on earth.
They fill our hearts with an explosive type of love.
They change perspective.
They are beautiful.
And unique.
And ornery. :)
I'll never take these moments for granted.
This image floods my heart. August is experiencing his first moments of freedom. To discover the rocky trail. To have no restraints. To feel the cool air on his cheeks and to run free. He's loving this day and we get to witness it from afar.
To watch them explore, create, and dream in a place that holds no judgement is magical.
I'm thankful for them.
Every day.
If you haven't been to Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery you need to.
Bring ziplock bags and quarters for fish food.
