ANOTHER YEAR OF KOKANEE SUCCESS!

After school today we took a little trip out to Lake Paulina.  It's a favorite of ours especially this time of year when we hope to see the beautiful Kokanee spawning.
The boys tried to catch fish off the dock before heading over to the trail along the creek.
We started our hike from the lake side of the trail instead of the Falls and we saw some Kokanee right away!  It was the first time we were able to actually catch one with our net.  We let him go quickly since he was in the midst of his transformation and stinky!!
Every time I see this I feel like it's such a gift.  Not only did they appear for us but they gave us a beautiful show as the light lit them up!
Being out there in the evening was so peaceful and gorgeous.
The boys love to explore the trail and the fun islands in the water.

 One of the many islands:)
August loves his net.  This net has been on MANY adventures and it's amazing it's still in one piece...barely.
 Long arm family selfie attempt:)
 Evening lighting...breathtaking!
This is what evenings should look like.
Mom to the rescue after Sawyer fell in!
 Our cute little handful.
Canyon is always finding places to explore.
Sometimes you have to look close to find him:)
Thankful for these moments.
