What's more fun than kids and mud puddles?
We had dreams...ok...visions of making it to see Blue Pool but we decided to play instead.
Trail head.
Thankfully we brought our boots today. Mom and dad...not so much.
This is such a wonderful hike for the kids. If you make it to the Blue Pool it's even better, but this 2 mile trail is incredibly scenic and so fun to explore.
The vastness of this place can not be captured with a camera.
The colors are so vibrant and honestly it doesn't even look real!
The McKenzie River follows you most of the way with it's gorgeous clear water. (Toward the end of the hike you will be surrounded by lava rock)
Endless mud puddles make it a kids paradise:)
Canyon LOVED climbing and exploring all around the forest.
I promise this place is REAL!
Canyon somehow managed to climb to the top of this fallen over tree with it's roots exposed.
We did this trail last June and it was still muddy and wet in spots so if you plan to come, I'd bring boots as long as your kids can comfortable hike 4 miles round trip in them.
Or do what we did and just go as far as you want:) It's worth any distance.
August was not happy about being in the back pack the entire way but he also threw a fit when we tried to put his rain boots on so shoes and pack it was. He got to walk back to the car once we got to the road.
Such a beautiful place!
